Ding goes the dinner bell.

Pitter-patter on the floor.

The boys are back from morning chores.

Where is mama, where is dad?

Both are gone. Sure is sad.

Ring goes the dinner bell.

Boys fill pockets with posies.

Where is God? Seems to be dozing.

Best get your sinning done quick.

Before you get caught. Before you get sick.

Pop goes the dinner bell.

The boys rest for they seem tired.

They loaf all day not admired.

Blister-cough a sound unholy.

They wish for swiftness. Will die slowly.

Crackle goes the dinner bell.

The boys lie waiting stiller than still.

The doctor comes with his goofy bill.

Dig the trench, and burn the sores.

No tears shed for this battle less war.

Sizzle goes the diner bell

Ashes, ashes we all fall down.

The boys become air for the town.

No one breathe. No one weep.

No one here. They're all asleep.

Roar goes the dinner bell.

The fires rage in his country.

Millions of souls at the gates of Hell.

Pitter-patter towards the door so dumbly.

Better hurry up. The devil’s hungry.
